Company Mission Statement

“We at Autodiagnosis Limited aim to deliver a repair solution to all our customers vehicles that is more reliable, more cost effective, more informative and more professional than any of our competitors."

The above statement is deliverable every single time because:

  • We are a Specialist Company who are focused on our customers and their needs, we are in a rare position of being able to spend more time on every individual. Every customer receives the same level of expertise.
  • We have relatively low overheads, being mobile we have no expensive workshop facility to upkeep so we re-invest our profits by purchasing state of the art equipment to keep track with the constant change in vehicle technology.
  • We share information with our customers, all our customers receive an Engineers Report produced by a registered Incorporated Engineer highlighting all key findings, results and recommendations. We take the “Black Art” approach away from the repair.
  • Communication is a key part of Professionalism, keeping the customer involved in the repair of his / her vehicle and giving updates, presenting plans and issuing the final report all add to the customers perception.

Where We Fit

The Modern Passenger Car Service and Repair Industry is starting to undergo serious change inline with modern vehicle Technology. There is a gulf developing between small repairers and Franchised Main Dealerships, this gulf over the coming years will grow into a canyon.

On the one hand you have the small garage or mobile mechanic who does the best job he can with the limited tools and facilities he has. He cannot afford to commit large sums of money in purchasing new equipment so he carries on trying to undercut everyone else with traditional servicing and repair work.

On the other hand, the main dealership has massive overheads, employs many people, has a large turnover of vehicle repairs and have specialist equipment to support the vehicles they deal in plus they have more importantly huge experience in their products. However on the downside their labour rates are ridiculously high, which they have to be to support their facility. There are however a number of closely related things that small traders and main franchises have in common which will in time hurt them both equally.

  1. Modern Cars are getting more reliable.
  2. Service intervals are getting longer, due to more durable long life components.
  3. Service and repair times are getting shorter - profitability per job is lower.

Its item three of the above list that which is most interesting because it means a garage has to sell more hours in order to break even, this applies to all garages and there is no doubt whatsoever that this fact alone means customer service suffers. A garage cannot make enough money on one job that potentially takes too long when they could be doing two or three more profitable jobs.

This is a true fact and a fact proven by myself from years spent working in main dealerships and small garages alike. The worst jobs that come through the door of any garage are the ones where a customer complains of an intermittent running fault because these are the jobs that could cost them in time.

To confirm this further and highlight our position in the Canyon it is interesting to note that we pick up 50% of our business as sub-contractors from the garage trade, main dealers and small garages alike. Obviously we would prefer the customer to come straight to us, it would be cheaper for them if they did but the fact remains, there is a growing market for Specialist Repairers.
